AI HIRING SOFTWARE

AI hiring that shows its work. Every stage held to one standard.

Pyro is AI hiring software for recruitment agencies and startups. It writes down what good looks like for a role once, then holds the posting, the CV search, the screen and the interviews to it, and shows the evidence behind every step. A person makes every decision.

What is AI hiring software?

AI hiring software does the reading, searching and first-round interviewing in a hire. The real question is whether you can check its work. In Pyro you can: every shortlist, screen and interview arrives with the evidence behind it, and a person signs every decision.

HOW IT WORKS

Six steps, one standard.

  1. 01Write the standard

Describe the role, or point Pyro at a client's website. Pyro drafts the posting and agrees the criteria with you before a single CV arrives.

  2. 02Grade the posting

Every section is graded, with fixes you apply in one click. A posting that targets or excludes a protected group, or states an age limit, cannot be published.

  3. 03Search what you own

Pyro reads the CVs in your Google Drive or OneDrive folder by meaning as well as keywords, and shows the passage that matched.

  4. 04Screen against the criteria

Each application is scored against the role with the reasoning shown: what matched and what is missing. The gaps become interview questions.

  5. 05Interview with ARIA

ARIA, Pyro's AI interviewer, runs a spoken first round built from what the CV left open, and asks a follow-up when an answer is vague.

  6. 06Decide with the record

In the human round a copilot keeps the question list and drafts follow-ups for the interviewer. Every stage move names the person who made it.

THE EVIDENCE

What “shows its work” looks like.

Most AI hiring tools hand you a score. Pyro hands you the trail: the passage in the CV that matched, the moment in the interview that answered an open question, and the person who decided.

CV · matched passage Arjun Mehta · Senior DevOps Engineer Ran a 40-node Kubernetes fleet across three regions; cut deploy time from 45 to 8 minutes. Matches: platform operations at scale
ARIA interview · 04:31 Which decision was yours alone? Moving the stateful services last. I ran two weeks of shadow traffic first, because a rollback there would have cost us a day. Answers: ownership of technical decisions
Decision Moved to client interview By Priya Shah, recruiter. Signed on the record, with the evidence above. A person decided

WHY IT GOES WRONG

Where AI hiring fails.

AI hiring fails in three familiar ways: it rejects people on a missing keyword, it produces a score nobody can explain, and it replaces judgement instead of informing it.

All three start in the same place. Nobody wrote down what good looks like for the role, so the software guesses, and a guess can't be checked. Pyro starts the other way round: you agree the criteria before the first CV arrives, every search result shows the passage that matched, and every score shows its reasoning.

  • Keyword filters miss the engineer who ran a 40-node fleet but never wrote “platform”.
  • Unexplained scores leave a recruiter unable to defend a decision to a client or a candidate.
  • Automatic rejection takes the decision away from the person accountable for it.
THE RIGHT JOB FOR AI

What AI should do in hiring, and what it should not.

In Pyro that line is drawn in the product, not in a policy document. The AI reads, searches, compares and interviews. People decide, and the record shows which was which.

  • Pyro's AI reads every CV in your folder, compares each application with the criteria, and runs ARIA's first round.
  • It drafts the notes, the follow-ups and the scorecard. A recruiter confirms or changes each rating.
  • It never rejects a candidate or moves anyone between stages. Every stage move carries the name of the person who made it.
  • It does not score anyone on facial expressions or emotion.
THE KINDS OF TOOL

Five kinds of AI hiring software, and where Pyro sits.

Most AI hiring tools do one job and plug into an applicant tracking system. Knowing which job each does makes a shortlist easier to read.

  • Sourcing tools find people outside your database, on the open web and professional networks.
  • Screening tools score and rank the applications you receive against a role.
  • AI interviewers run a first-round interview with each candidate and summarise it.
  • Interview intelligence tools help in, or after, interviews run by people.
  • All-in-one platforms do several of these in one system. Pyro is one: it writes the posting, searches the CVs you own, screens, interviews and helps in the human round, against one standard.
FAIRNESS AND THE LAW

Designed for the rules hiring runs under.

Here is what that looks like in Pyro. Before ARIA asks a single question, the candidate sees that they are about to speak with an AI and is asked for consent; they can decline. A posting that states an age limit or targets a protected group will not publish, whoever presses the button.

Those are design choices, not a compliance certificate. Hiring is a high-risk use of AI under the EU AI Act, anti-discrimination law applies to decisions made with software, and New York City, Illinois and Colorado have their own rules on automated hiring tools. Your obligations remain yours.

  • Every decision names the person who made it.
  • Diversity data is kept apart: never shown to decision-makers and never sent to the AI.
  • Every AI step is logged.
WHAT TO MEASURE

How to tell whether AI hiring is working.

A hiring tool earns its place in numbers you already track. Pick a handful before you start, so the comparison is honest.

  • Time from posting to shortlist, and from shortlist to offer.
  • Recruiter hours spent reading CVs and running first rounds.
  • How many shortlisted candidates the client or hiring manager accepts for interview.
  • How many hires came from CVs you already owned, rather than paid job boards.
  • Whether every decision can be explained when someone asks why.
GETTING STARTED

A four-week pilot on one real role.

The fastest way to judge AI hiring software is to run one live role through it, start to finish, beside the way you work today.

  • Week one: agree the criteria for the role and let Pyro grade the posting before it goes live.
  • Week two: connect the folder where your CVs live, search it, and screen the first applicants.
  • Week three: invite the strongest matches to an ARIA first round, and review the transcripts and scorecards.
  • Week four: run the human round with the copilot, make the decisions, and compare the numbers with your last similar hire.
WHO IT IS FOR

Agencies and startups.

Agencies are judged on the shortlist they send. Pyro reads the CVs already sitting in your shared drive before you pay a job board again, and keeps the evidence behind every name you put forward.

Startups hire without a recruiting team. Pyro drafts the posting, screens every applicant against the same criteria and runs the first round, so founders spend their time on the final interviews.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions to ask any AI hiring vendor.

  1. 01Can it show why it scored a candidate the way it did?A score you can't explain is a score you can't defend. In Pyro, the reasoning sits beside every score.
  2. 02Who makes the final decision, and is that recorded? The accountable person should be named. In Pyro, every stage move carries their name.
  3. 03Does it reject candidates automatically?Automatic rejection moves the decision out of human hands. Pyro never rejects anyone.
  4. 04What does the candidate see and agree to?Candidates should know when they are talking to an AI. ARIA says so before it starts, and asks for consent.
  5. 05Can it search the CVs you already own?Your past applicants are the cheapest candidates you have. Pyro reads your Google Drive or OneDrive folder.
  6. 06How is it priced?Per-seat pricing taxes every recruiter you add. Pyro has no per-seat licence.
  7. 07Where is the data, and what is certified?Ask for the hosting region by name. Pyro runs on Google Cloud, with EU hosting on Enterprise.

“First it asked questions relevant to the JD and then specific to my experience. So everything was relevant.”

QUESTIONS

Asked often.

Does AI hiring software replace recruiters?

No. Pyro does the reading, searching and first-round interviewing. Recruiters make every decision, and Pyro records who made it.

Is AI hiring biased?

It can be, when it copies past decisions or rejects on keywords. Pyro scores every candidate against criteria written for the role before any CV arrives, flags biased wording in the posting, and keeps diversity data away from its AI. A person reviews and decides.

Does Pyro reject candidates automatically?

No. Pyro can invite a strong match to an AI interview, but it never rejects a candidate or moves anyone between stages on its own.

Is AI hiring legal?

Yes, with obligations. Hiring is a high-risk use under the EU AI Act, and anti-discrimination law applies to decisions made with software. Pyro is designed around human decisions, candidate disclosure and consent, and a full record. Your own legal obligations remain yours.

Can we keep our current ATS?

Yes. Pyro can be your only system, or run beside the ATS you already have.

Which languages does Pyro support?

Pyro runs in English today. It can search CVs written in other languages, but postings, screening and interviews are in English.

How is Pyro priced?

There is no per-seat licence. You pay for what the AI does, metered per use, plus a fee when you hire. Book a demo for numbers on your volumes.

Where is our data stored?

On Google Cloud in India today, with EU hosting available on Enterprise. Each customer's data is isolated by the database itself.

What is the difference between AI hiring software and an ATS?

An applicant tracking system holds candidates and moves them through stages. AI hiring software does part of the work itself: reading, searching, screening and interviewing. Pyro is both: an ATS that does that work, held to one standard.

Can AI hiring software work for small teams?

Yes. Pyro has no per-seat licence, so a two-person agency or a founder hiring their first team pays for the work the AI does, not for seats.

How long does it take to start?

You can run a first role in days: describe the role, connect the folder where your CVs live, and publish. A four-week pilot on one real role is the usual way to judge it.

Will candidates know AI is involved?

Yes. Before an AI interview, ARIA says it is an AI and asks for consent. Candidates can decline.
